People drop LS1s and LT1s into these cars all the time but nowhere on the net have I seen a 53 Vortec in a camaro. Theres no real indication of this engine swap on the exterior so other people on the street or at a show would be none the wiser until you either punch it or pop the SS hood to show off. Motor is out i have the 53 already and test fitted it for hood clearance everything is good so far.

A mid 9 sec 53 approx 4700 race weight I think was at 11 deg timing. I know of a few that buy junkyard 53 cheap. Connect with a local dealer.

New Water Pump. There is a sticky over in the hybrid section of ls1tech which indicates that you can do the 53 l swap for 1500. Im new here but not new.
